I believe in a thorough and collaborative approach to patient care. Patient care should not be approached as one size fits all. Patients should understand the full spectrum of their diagnosis and treatment options before committing to a plan of care. A positive outcome begins when both parties, the patient and the provider, have trust in one another and confidence in the direction of care. I also believe my personal background gives me a unique eye and approach to coming up with appropriate treatment plans for patients, both operative and nonoperative.
After completing my Kinesiology degree at Penn State University, I knew I wanted to become a healthcare provider. I initiated my journey by studying chiropractic medicine before ultimately pursuing my physician assistant degree. I have been focused on musculoskeletal management from both a conservative and surgical perspective during my career, and have enjoyed managing patients from both perspectives. My primary focus has been neuromusculoskeletal and orthopedic care. I find the variety engaging and take significant pride in the ability to make an acute difference in patients with acute and chronic issues as well as traumatic injuries.
My own personal athletic background also contributed to my ultimate professional career in medicine. I grew up playing multiple competitive and high-level sports growing up, including Olympic Development Soccer. After several of my own injuries, including concussions to orthopedic trauma, I knew healthcare was the field for me. I have immense respect for my own care providers through the years. I hope I can get my patients back in action just as my practitioners did for me.
When I am not focused on work, I am usually trying to stay very active. I enjoy CrossFit and other fitness activities. My husband and I, along with our two dogs, are always looking for things to do outdoors in this beautiful state. If I’m not working out, you can usually find me involved in some sort of sporting event, particularly if it has anything to do with Penn State.
