Dr. Kent was born at Eglin Air Force in Florida. He and his family moved to USAFA in 1969 where he graduated from Air Academy High School as valedictorian. Dr. Kent received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Colorado-Boulder. It is there where he did extensive biochemical research with eventual Nobel Laureate, Dr. Tom Cech. Dr. Kent received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine and then completed his family practice residency at the University of Texas-Houston.

Dr. Kent returned home to practice medicine in Colorado Springs in 1996. He and his wife, Cathy, enjoy the outdoors, fishing and tennis along with their six children. Dr. Kent loves the diversity of family medicine, and caring for his patients through all stages of life. He is board certified in family practice and is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice.
