I use a holistic approach to rehabilitation by addressing all components and psychosocial aspects of care.

Javi completed his doctoral training at University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. He originally comes from Southern California where he was a co-author on a few studies involving biofeedback training in individuals recovering post stroke. More recently, he has worked on many projects with the RESTORE research team at CU Anschutz.

Originally interested in inpatient neurological care, his interests changed after experiencing a multi-ligamentous knee injury. Recovering from ACL reconstruction led him to become a leading clinician in ACL rehab. If you can’t find him helping others get through ACL rehab, you can find him working on other areas of specialty including shoulder, hip, neck and vestibular/concussion rehab. You can count on Javi to address mental, physical, and other psychosocial needs. Javi is strong supporter of addressing health disparities as a result of socioeconomic barriers. Being fluent in Spanish and spending his summer in Mexico have helped him bridge gaps within these communities.

Outside of work you can find Javi in the mountains snowboarding, cross country skiing, hiking, and climbing. As a former D1 tennis prospect, you can find him on the courts in the summer as well.
