My career in medicine began when I joined the U.S. Army as a medic in 2006. Since then, I have served on multiple overseas deployments and continued my military career after becoming a physician assistant. Those experiences taught me how to remain calm in challenging situations, adapt quickly and appreciate the importance of a strong medical team. As a civilian PA, I spent seven years practicing emergency medicine, where I developed a particular interest in caring for critically ill and injured patients. I am excited to bring those experiences to trauma and acute care surgery and to continue growing as part of the surgical team.
I believe the best patient care combines clinical experience, clear communication and compassion. Trauma and acute illness are often unexpected and overwhelming for patients and their families, and I believe an important part of my role is helping them understand what is happening and what comes next.
Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, hiking, skiing and watching the NBA. I especially enjoy being outdoors and exploring new places whenever I have the opportunity.
