Midwifery is my calling and I consider it a privilege to walk with women through pregnancy, birth and beyond. I know birth is a transformational experience and I am deeply honored to be invited into this intimate space. I love being able to guard the normalcy of birth in the hospital setting. I am also passionate about well-woman care and helping women learn about their bodies and feel ownership over their health and healthcare. I deeply value shared decision-making so I provide personalized care that acknowledges you as the expert of your body and helps you make decisions rooted in your needs and values. I am inclusive, speak conversational Spanish, and practice from a trauma-informed perspective.
My path to midwifery began with the empowering experience of having my first baby with a midwife at a freestanding birth center. Before becoming a midwife, I volunteered as a nurse in Guatemala City, worked in an intimate hospice house in Massachusetts, and served postpartum families in Fort Collins. My hospice work profoundly informs my midwifery practice and I know I am following in a long line of women who have cared for their communities in the sacred space at the beginning and end of life.
When not catching babies, you can find me wrangling my three kids, hiking around Horsetooth Reservoir, baking sourdough bread, volunteering with a women’s coop in Guatemala, organizing a neighborhood potluck, or planning our next family adventure. Though a Wisconsin native, I’m now an enthusiastic Coloradoan!
