Originally from Naples, NY, Dr. Treadwell earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Secondary Education, followed by six years of teaching high school math and science in Miami, FL. He went on to earn his medical degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, on a Naval Health Professions Scholarship. Following his medical education, he moved to Portsmouth, VA, to complete an internship at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth and went on to receive training at Pensacola Naval Air Station as a Flight Surgeon. He then served active duty for four years in the United States Navy, including a year as a Flight Surgeon of the Fifth Fleet while stationed in Bahrain. After completing his active duty service with a helicopter squadron in Norfolk, VA, LCDR Treadwell and family moved to York, PA to complete a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Memorial Hospital. Following his residency program, he completed two years of fellowship training to specialize in Hand and Upper Extremity surgery in Roanoke, VA and Louisville, KY, respectively.

He is passionate about the intricacies of the hand and upper extremity and about connecting with his patients. Making treatment decisions with the patient that brings about the best outcome for the patient’s individual lifestyle is of the utmost importance to Dr. Treadwell.

Clinical interest for patients

My focus in orthopedic surgery includes hand, forearm, elbow and shoulder problems. I perform several different surgeries which involve the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder such as carpal tunnel surgery, wrist surgery, elbow arthroscopy, tendon repair, arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, labral repair and shoulder replacement surgery. This is not an all inclusive list as I also treat fractures of the hand and upper extremity and general orthopedics.
