I believe that in order to achieve the best functional outcome, it is important to build trust, make a connection with and educate my patients at a level they can comfortably understand. I enjoy being an enthusiastic part of my patient’s rehabilitation and strive to be welcoming, encouraging and informative as they engage in the process. I know that there is more to my patient than their upper extremity diagnosis. Understanding what makes them unique helps me tailor their therapy program to them as individuals. Having fun while we achieve their goals is one of the best parts of my job. Achieving an optimal level of functional independence is a team effort- patient, physician and therapist working in harmony. I truly enjoy the dynamic of that interaction. I sincerely love my job.

UCHealth really “walks the talk” in terms of the improving lives in meaningful and personal ways. As a community of healthcare providers we truly put our patient first. I see integrity and excellence in my colleagues everyday as we interact with our patients and coworkers. There is a genuine atmosphere of support and encouragement in my workplace that is so refreshing! In addition I have the honor of working alongside an elite team of surgeons and physicians at Steadman Hawkins and the greater UCHealth community.

I was born in South Africa and raised in Western Australia. I have lived in the US for 30 years, spending the majority of that time in Colorado. I love the sunshine, the mountains and the friendliness of the people here. Camping, working out, sewing, knitting, remodeling, traveling and spending quality time with my family and friends are among my favorite things to do.

During my college training in Occupational Therapy I developed a passion for hand therapy that has only continued to grow. Working exclusively in hand therapy since 1998 here in Colorado, Florida as well as Western Australia. I have had the honor of working alongside a number of surgeons specializing in all aspects of upper extremity pathology, in addition to occupational medicine physicians, rheumatologists and primary care physicians. An active member of the American Society of Hand Therapists since the early 90s I have enjoyed attending a multitude of local, national and international hand therapy conferences. I have also had the opportunity of presenting at local, state and national meetings.
