My approach to cardiology care is centered on treating the whole person, with a strong focus on helping patients live well with heart failure while also providing comprehensive general cardiology care. I believe the best outcomes are achieved through education, partnership and early intervention, empowering patients to take an active role in their heart health.
My goal is to deliver care that is compassionate, evidence-based, and responsive to each patient’s individual preferences, needs, and values. I practice in both the hospital and outpatient settings and work closely with the broader cardiology team to ensure patients receive timely, coordinated care as their needs evolve.
In 2016, I helped to create Healing Hearts Academy, a heart failure education program that provides ongoing support and practical guidance through monthly online classes. I also collaborated in the development of an outpatient IV diuretic infusion clinic designed to treat worsening heart failure symptoms in a safe, supportive setting, with the goal of improving quality of life and reducing unnecessary hospitalizations.
Through clear communication, thoughtful intervention, and a compassionate, proactive approach, I strive to support patients across the full spectrum of cardiovascular disease.
When I’m not caring for patients, you’ll most often find me in the mountains. I love exploring Colorado’s high country through hiking, trail running, backpacking, camping, biking, and snowshoeing. Time in nature is where I feel most grounded, energized, and inspired, and it plays an important role in how I care for my own physical and mental well-being.
I am a traumatic brain injury survivor and have turned that experience into a lifelong commitment to advocacy and community leadership. I founded a TBI survivor support group, which I am humbled to be a part of, and I have participated in the Pikes Peak Challenge, a fundraiser supporting the Brain Injury Association of Colorado since 2001.
When I’m home, I enjoy slowing down with a good book and spending time with my family. I embrace a flexitarian, primarily vegetarian lifestyle to support heart health and overall wellness, and I enjoy exploring new plant-forward recipes that fuel my active life in the mountains.
