As a board-certified nurse practitioner for over 20 years, I’ve worked in a variety of settings, including family practice, emergency department and inpatient hospital settings. In those places, I have been able to provide comfort and guidance to those going through some of the most stressful and frightening experiences of their lives. It is an honor to walk through those times with my patients and develop deep relationships with them during the journey. In palliative care, we see patients with complex, serious and sometimes terminal illnesses from the time of diagnosis to, in some cases, the end of life. Our team has the opportunity to spend time with patients and their families to learn about their lives, their goals and their values. We share times of happiness and times of grief. We focus on quality of life and minimizing suffering to help people live as well as they can, doing the things they enjoy and spending time with those they love.
I have lived in Steamboat since 2013 with my husband and our 2 children. Prior to that, we lived in Denver but we were not close enough to the mountains! We feel so fortunate to be here in this gorgeous place and to have to opportunity to raise our kids in this community. As a family, we love to spend time outdoors, hiking, bicycling, skiing, camping or paddle boarding.
