The field of colon and rectal surgery requires a special relationship between a patient and their physician. Many of the conditions treated in my field can be embarrassing or difficult to talk about for patients. I think it is extremely important to listen to my patients and earn their trust to identify what symptoms or concerns are bothering them the most. This allows me to create an individualized treatment plan on a case-by-case basis to provide the best care that I can for each patient. I find that this leads to improved patient satisfaction and outcomes which allows me to deliver the highest quality of care that I can in order to help people through a difficult time in their life.
