My first rule is “listen to your patient.” If you listen carefully they will tell you most of what you need to help them. I love taking care of multigenerational families and using my knowledge to help them navigate the most simple to the most complex of health matters. I have a desire to solve the puzzle and do what it takes to try to meet that goal. I strongly advocate for my patients and truly understand the need to work within a health care team to provide care, utilizing all the members of the team to achieve the highest level of care. I believe that including the patient every step of the way and making sure they understand their health issues is imperative. I spend time educating my patients at a level that is understandable to them, because meeting them where they are at is important to me.
I grew up in the UK, met and married my American husband John while working as a volunteer physician in the highlands Papua New Guinea. We have 2 grown daughters whom we are very proud of. and cannot wait to see what adventures they follow in their own lives. We live on a small horse ranch in Northern Colorado and spend most of our free time with family, working outside with our animals and enjoying our beautiful mountains and trails.
