My philosophy of care begins with treating each patient as a person first. Before making recommendations, I try to understand what matters most to the patient, what they are worried about, and what they hope to achieve. From there, I focus on clear communication, thoughtful risk assessment, and shared decision-making so patients and families can understand their diagnosis, treatment options, and the trade-offs involved.
I aim to provide safe, individualized surgical care that aligns with each patient’s goals. When appropriate, I use minimally invasive and robotic approaches that may reduce pain, shorten recovery, and help patients return to normal life sooner. I also believe good surgical care extends beyond the operating room through preparation, follow-up, quality improvement, and attention to the social factors that affect healing.
Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my family outdoors, running, skiing, and learning new things together. I also enjoy hands-on projects that combine creativity, precision, and problem-solving: from 3D printing to high-fidelity audio and technology that solve every-day problems. I’m drawn to building/creating thoughtfully and learning through the process, which reflects the same curiosity and attention to detail that I bring to my work.
