A CU Medicine provider.

I strive to provide the best care for my patients. I believe in ensuring that the patient and his/her family understand completely the disease condition to be treated both before and during treatment, as well as in follow up.

In my spare time, I enjoy bicycling, travel, hiking, listening to most forms of music.

Clinical interest for patients

My many clinical interests include essentially all forms of vascular disease in the brain and spinal cord. These include aneurysms, blood vessel malformations, stroke, dural sinus thrombosis; atheromatous disease of the neck arteries; dissections of the neck arteries; pseudotumor cerebri.

Research interest for patients

My research interests are primarily focused on investigating new and complex, multidisciplinary treatments of vascular diseases in the brain and spinal cord, including aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations and fistulae, spontaneous dissections and atheromatous disease of the extracranial and intracranial arterial circulation, dural sinus thrombosis. This also includes stent treatment for idiopathic intracranial hypertension (pseudotumor cerebri).

Volunteer activities

I am dedicated to teaching physicians in other less advanced countries the complex techniques and equipment that are used to perform these delicate procedures. This includes both teaching in foreign countries, taking training fellows from foreign countries, and helping to arrange for training opportunities for foreign physicians. These efforts have been particularly applicable in China, and I have received the International Cooperation Award from the Chinese Society of Interventional Radiology in gratitude for these efforts.
