David received his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY in 2011. He then went on to complete an optional 1 year post doctorate orthopaedic residency at the University of Utah and the George E. Wahlen Department of Veteran Affairs in Salt Lake City, UT. As part of the residency he had his own clinical caseload, weekly mentorship under a Board Certified Orthopaedic Specialist and taught in the Physical Therapy department at the University of Utah.
David joined the SportsMed team in the fall of 2013. He is a board certified clinical specialist in orthopaedics. The specialist certification was established to provide formal recognition for physical therapists with advanced clinical knowledge, experience, and skills in special areas of practice and to assist consumers and the health care community in identifying these physical therapists.
He also is an American Physical Therapy Association Certified Clinical Instructor and enjoys mentoring students.
Outside of the clinic Dave’s interests include running, cycling, mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, skiing and photography. In 2012, he qualified for the Boston Marathon.
