I hope to create a personal partnership with all of my patients to develop care goals, understanding of their disease process and associated management, as well as work to identify and correct any barriers to care. I will use evidence-based guidelines to ensure my patients have the most up-to-date treatments. Finally, I will be an active voice in the community to promote healthy lifestyles, preventative practices, and work to create a dialogue between city institutions and our patients.
Having grown up in Sterling I was introduced to medicine by many of the same providers that are currently still in practice. I observed and lived what it meant to be a physician to a small town. I know that in a small town, more so than anywhere else, a physician is expected to not only be knowledgeable, resourceful, and efficient, but also to be a strong member of the community. When I started down the path to medicine, more than a decade ago, I always knew I would be returning to serve the community I grew up in. I chose to do my residency in Internal Medicine-Pediatrics. This specialized field of medicine has prepared me to become dual board certified in both internal medicine as well as pediatrics. My decision to pursue this four-year residency was founded on the desire to care for all members of my community, from birth to geriatrics. I hope that with my training I will be able to contribute to the respected health care team and community in Sterling, Colorado. Having trained in internal medicine, I am excited to enter an outpatient primary care practice as well as feel competent in an inpatient acute care setting.
