As a Neurointerventional Surgeon, during my extensive years of training I have seen the complexities of clinical decision-making with both urgent/emergent and even non-urgent/incidentally found neurovascular lesions of the brain and spine. Blood vessel pathologies can be terrifying for patients and their families, especially during emergent situations such as those involving blood clots or brain bleeds, and I will spend as much time as needed to explain to families and patients the clinical situation and together we can plan out the next steps. My core philosophy will always be a patient-centred approach with shared decision-making between individuals and their families.
I believe in evidence-based medicine, as well as the art of medicine. Every patient is a unique individual and some will not fit cleanly into a study population. As such, I will treat each patient encounter as a unique experience and tailor my approach and plan accordingly.
I will always believe that medicine requires a team approach, and this team-based approach will deliver the best care possible for patients. I am excited and grateful to be joining the UCHealth team, and I know we will provide exceptional care for the population of Colorado Springs.
I am blessed to have married my soulmate, and our family enjoys the outdoors of Colorado Springs.
Outside of work, I enjoy sports (Utah Utes, Utah Jazz, Broncos!!), working out, video games, movies/streaming TV shows, and being commissioner of a long standing Fantasy Football league.
