My approach to trauma and acute care surgery is grounded in the principle of Cura Personalis — care for the whole person — a value that shaped my earliest medical training at Georgetown University, where I completed both my master’s and medical degrees. This philosophy continues to guide me today: treating not just the illness or injury, but recognizing and respecting each patient’s unique experiences, values and needs.
Trauma and emergency surgery often involve high-stakes decisions made under pressure. In these moments, I am committed to delivering timely, evidence-based surgical care with a calm, steady presence. I view every patient encounter as an opportunity to not only provide excellent clinical care, but also to offer reassurance, clarity and compassion to patients and their loved ones.
I work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that care is coordinated, personalized and centered around what matters most to the patient. Whether stabilizing life-threatening injuries or managing complex acute conditions, my goal is to restore health and dignity with the highest level of skill, empathy and professionalism.
I come from a large, close-knit family based in Washington, D.C., where my journey in medicine first began. While I carry those strong East Coast roots with me, I was drawn to Colorado for its natural beauty and active lifestyle. Outside of the hospital, I enjoy backpacking, swimming and exploring the outdoors with my husband, our son and our dog. These moments in nature help me recharge and stay grounded — a balance that supports my work and well-being as a surgeon.

- Clinical interest for patients
-
My clinical focus is in trauma and acute care surgery, including the management of critically ill and injured patients in the intensive care setting. I have a particular interest in chest wall trauma, including surgical rib plating for patients with severe rib fractures. In addition to trauma care, I specialize in minimally invasive approaches — including laparoscopic and robotic surgery — for the treatment of hernias, gallbladder disease, and other gastrointestinal conditions.
