Patients should be empowered and included in shared clinical decision making. The clinic should be a safe place to express medical, psychological and other concerns.
After short careers as a beach lifeguard and a high school teacher, I earned my medical degree at the University of Colorado and completed a family medicine residency and maternal/child health fellowship at Ventura County Medical Center and affiliated Santa Paula Hospital in California. I am currently a faculty member in my hometown through the Fort Collins Family Medicine Residency program where I am passionate about teaching full-spectrum family medicine. Particular areas of interest include continuity of care between inpatient and outpatient settings, ultrasound, obstetrics, hospital medicine, care of underserved patients, and treatment of substance use disorders. With free time I love surfing rivers and oceans, hiking, skiing, and spending time with family.
