When making decisions about health, I believe the patient is in the driver’s seat. My job as the physician is to sit in the front passenger seat with the maps out, guiding us toward the destination and avoiding trouble. I consider it a privilege to care for patients like I would my own family.
Growing up, my family moved half a dozen times for my father’s work, which fostered my love for travel. My worldview opened further when I took part in a medical school exchange program in England, the West Indies, and the Midwest US. Now I consider “home” to be wherever my wife and children are.
I enjoy being a perpetual learner, exercising, relaxing outdoors, and art.
