I believe it is important to not only provide the best care for patients, but to include patients and their families in the decision making process. There should always be an emphasis on making sure to communicate in a clear and thorough manner so patients can understand the provider, and the provider can understand the patient and their family, as well.
Medicine is in my blood – born to a surgeon and a nurse, I watched my parents care for people my entire life, and it instilled in me the need to offer care, comfort and help in times of need. Becoming a Physician Assistant has offered me a profession to contribute to my community and have the work-life balance to also enjoy what my community has to offer outside of the health care setting. My favorite things to do are travel, eat and bake! But of course, anything outdoors is my happy place whether it be hiking, biking, camping or boating.
