I treat every patient as if they were one of my family members and give them the best possible care that I can. Surgery is not routine for patients and their families. They often arrive to the hospital hungry, anxious, tired and nervous after a long process of doctor’s visits, laboratory tests and many other studies. I empathize with each and every patient and enjoy our brief yet intense preoperative time together. I try to make them feel more at ease by answering all their questions, explaining my preoperative preparation, the intraoperative care and the postoperative process. Hopefully this approach creates a more pleasant patient experience while also improving their overall health.
After many years in the navy, I’m excited to be back home in Colorado. I have a wonderful wife and three amazing children who help keep me young and active. We enjoy traveling, skiing, surfing and all types of sports. While we enjoyed our numerous duty stations with the navy, especially San Diego and Japan, we are excited to not be moving every two years and look forward to growing roots here in Colorado.
