Dr. Mikaelian received his medical degree from Loyola University in Chicago and went on to complete his residency training at Boston University Medical Center and fellowship training in both Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology at Brown University. He and his family then moved to Colorado Springs and he has served patients at Memorial Hospital and UCHealth since 2009. Dr. Mikaelian is board-certified in Cardiac Electrophysiology and treats all types of cardiac arrhythmias. He is focused on the management of atrial fibrillation and helps to bring the latest technologies for atrial fibrillation treatment to Colorado Springs. He is a national leader in atrial fibrillation-related stroke prevention and has trained physicians throughout the United States and internationally on WATCHMAN procedures. Dr Mikaelian partners with Nicole Chieka, DNP to serve patients as an office and hospital-based team at both Memorial Hospital North and Central. As the Director of Memorial’s Arrhythmia program, he has been a passionate advocate for patients, helping them to understand their heart condition and treatment options, and to always provide the best care possible.
