I believe in working with the patient in a collaborative effort to improve their health and quality of life. Trust and clear communication between the doctor and the patient is vital. Through the entire process I try to ensure the patient has a clear understanding of the diagnosis and the proposed treatments so that they can make an informed decision. That collaboration also extends to the other health care providers involved in the patient’s care. Working together allows us to provide the best care for the whole patient in all aspects of their health. Going to a doctor for an illness can be a frightening and bewildering process. I strive to ensure that any fears are alleviated as much as possible and that the patient feels comfortable with the care they are receiving.
I am the child of an Army surgeon and followed my father into that profession. The Army brought me to Colorado Springs in 1992 which is where I met my wife Leslie. We have two wonderful children, Cecilia and Christopher. I fell in love with Colorado and Colorado Springs the moment I got here. As they saying goes, I’m not a native… but I got here as fast as I could.
