My philosophy is to treat each of my patients with the same compassion, respect and high level of expertise that I would want for my own loved ones during a difficult and stressful time in their life, especially when feeling pressured to make a rapid decision. Even if I am unable to help you as a surgeon, I will do my utmost best to provide guidance and comfort as I possibly can.
Medicine and surgery are ever-evolving fields, so I prioritize staying up-to-date with the latest insights and developments. This allows me to bring you the best evidence we have available, so you can make the choice that works best for you. To that end, I am double-board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Obesity Medicine, play an active role in the education and training of medical students and surgical residents, and publish surgical research.
I was born and raised in Pakistan. I have lived on three different continents, which has instilled in me an appreciation of contrasting cultures and divergent mindsets. My husband brought me to his home in Colorado, where we both love to ski, enjoy the beautiful variety of outdoor activities, and play video games when we don’t feel like going outside. My dream is to one day ski in the Himalayan and Karakoram mountain ranges in Pakistan, incidentally where K2 is located.
