I am a board certified family nurse practitioner that prides myself on establishing nurturing relationships with my patients. I believe the foundation of a strong provider-patient team stems from a trusting and compassionate relationship that focuses on involving the patient in their care. To me, patient education should be a necessary component of every visit; that ensures patients are equipped to make informed decisions about their health. My goal as a provider is to make every patient feel comfortable and at ease while being genuinely present during every visit. In addition, I strive to care for the whole patient by addressing all their needs including, not only medical, but also social, mental, financial, etc.
I am an upstate New York native that spent most of my adult life in Boston before moving to Colorado. Although the majority of my family is on the East Coast, I have fallen in love with the small family vibe that Colorado Springs offers. I received my Masters of Science in Nursing at Simmons University in Boston, MA. My nursing experience was in family medicine where I worked in a community health center providing care for a diverse population of patients that often experienced barriers to accessing health care. These experiences opened my eyes to the many barriers that patients often experience when it comes to receiving high-quality care. As a provider I now understand why it is so important to provide holistic care that takes into consideration these many barriers.
In my free time I enjoy exploring the beautiful Colorado outdoors with my fiancé and Rhodesian Ridgeback pup, whether that be hiking, snowboarding, snowshoeing, etc. Additionally, I enjoy traveling and going back home to visit my family and friends. I like to decompress outside of work with exercising, cooking, and reading to name a few.
