Alyssa has been practicing occupational therapy since 2020; however, before practicing, she volunteered in various occupational therapy settings since 2014. She has primarily worked in outpatient settings since graduating, focusing on both orthopedic and neurological conditions. In 2024, Alyssa obtained her Certified Hand [and Upper Extremity] Therapist (CHT) credential, furthering her specialization in upper extremity rehabilitation. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology, with double minors in Deaf Studies and Sociology from the State University of New York at New Paltz and went on to earn her Master of Occupational Therapy degree from Wesley College (Dover, DE) in 2020. In undergraduate and graduate school, she spent her time holding several Executive Board positions in Philanthropy, giving back to her community, as well as acting as a Teacher’s Assistant in both Anatomy and Physiology and Neuroanatomy courses. Alyssa prides herself on making personal connections with her patients, using a holistic and biopsychosocial approach. She enjoys the collaborative process between the MD, the patient and/or their caregiver, as well as using evidence-based practice to assist in the rehabilitation process with various orthopedic conditions and/or with neurological conditions such as a stroke or brain injury.
Alyssa is a native New Yorker; however, after graduate school, she lived just outside of Philadelphia, PA. During OT school and when studying for her OTR credential, she spent time living in Breckenridge and found herself frequently visiting Colorado. Eventually, she decided to make Colorado her home and joined UCHealth, at our Longs Peak Medical Center Outpatient Therapy clinic. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, checking off her 14er checklist, taking up new hobbies, exploring the many beautiful towns of Colorado, and spending time with her pets and significant other.
