Important topics such as geriatrics, substance abuse and MAAT, treating chronic pain, population health and quality improvement, and community medicine are scheduled longitudinally.

In addition to the rotation requirements, residents are required to spend a minimum of 1000 hours seeing patients in the Family Medicine Center. Residents are expected to see patients in the Family Medicine Center for no less than 40 weeks each year.
