Merle Taylor serves as president of UCHealth Diversified Services and its community hospitals in the metro Denver region including Broomfield Hospital, Highlands Ranch Hospital and Longs Peak Hospital.
In his diversified services role, Mr. Taylor oversees numerous departments that serve UCHealth’s hospitals including ambulatory surgery centers, laboratory, security services, support services and other areas. UCHealth includes 14 Colorado hospitals with over 2,500 inpatient beds and more than 200 clinic locations in Colorado, southern Wyoming and western Nebraska.
Mr. Taylor joined UCHealth in October 2017, working as the chief operating officer for hospitals in the UCHealth Southern Colorado Region. Before joining UCHealth, he served in several roles for UPMC in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania over an eleven-year period beginning with an administrative fellowship, and concluding most recently as vice president of operations at UPMC Passavant and UPMC St. Margaret.
Merle earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University in Construction Management and Master’s Degrees in Business Administration and Health Administration from Washington University in St. Louis. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a member of the BYU Management Society.
Merle and his wife, Michelle, are the parents of 4 children. He is originally from Mesa, AZ, is fluent in Italian, and in his spare time, he enjoys golf, racquetball, reading, cooking, backpacking and other outdoor activities.
