After serving in an interim role for three months, Lonnie R. Cramer was named President and CEO for UCHealth’s Southern Colorado Region on March 20, 2023. Based at UCHealth Memorial Hospital Central in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the South Region encompasses six hospitals and multiple off-site clinics.

Lonnie has over 27 years of operations health care experience, most recently as President of UCHealth Longs Peak (Longmont, Colorado) and Broomfield Hospitals and UCHealth Ambulatory Surgery Center Board of Directors.

Prior to UCHealth, Lonnie was the Chief Operating Officer for Penrose-St. Francis Health Services, which is made up of two acute care hospitals located in Colorado Springs where he was responsible for all aspects of operations, including spearheading hospital joint ventures and business development initiatives. Lonnie also held the positions of SVP/Chief Administrative Officer and Vice President of Operations for Penrose Hospital. From 2011 to 2013, he served as the Penrose-St. Francis Administrative Director for surgical services, imaging services, and the orthopedic and neurosurgery service lines.

Prior to that, Lonnie was Chief Operating Officer at MDiagnostics Inc., a company based in Metairie, Louisiana and specializing in outpatient imaging with five centers in multiple states, as well as Director of Diagnostic Imaging Services at the Fort Walton Beach Medical Center in Florida. He began his healthcare career in the U.S. Army, serving eight years. Lonnie holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Practice Management, a Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, and is certified in Angiography, Cardiac Cath, Radiology, Cat Scan, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging.

Lonnie is a Trustee for the Colorado Springs Fire Foundation and Colorado Springs Police Foundation Boards, as well as a member of the Children’s Hospital Colorado’s Southern Colorado Advisory Committee. When not working, Lonnie enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his family. He and his wife, Janet, have been married for 30 years and have three children and two grandchildren.
