Kevin L. Unger

Kevin L. Unger serves as president and chief executive officer of Poudre Valley Hospital and Medical Center of the Rockies, two of 14 hospitals within UCHealth, a nationally recognized, nonprofit health care system with operating revenue of $7.5 billion and a workforce of more than 33,000 people.

Mr. Unger also oversees other UCHealth locations in northern Colorado including Yampa Valley Medical Center, Greeley Hospital, Longs Peak Hospital and numerous ambulatory medical centers.

Mr. Unger’s focus on quality excellence is reflected in the numerous national awards won by Poudre Valley Hospital, Medical Center of the Rockies, and Poudre Valley Health System, including the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in 2008. Mr. Unger was selected in 2009 as the recipient of the Robert S. Hudgens Young Healthcare Executive of the year through the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Prior to joining Poudre Valley Hospital, he served as the manager for the Department of Medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center; Business Development Analyst for University Hospital in Denver; and a consultant for First Consulting Group.

Mr. Unger earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Colorado State University in 1992, a Master of Science in Health Administration from the University of Colorado at Denver in 1998, a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Colorado at Denver in 1998 and a Doctor of Philosophy in Organizational Development and Change from Colorado State University in 2013.

A native of Fort Collins, he and his wife, Stacy, are the proud parents of three children, Sydney, Mason and Sophia.
