The Casey-Fink Surveys© are designed to evaluate transition-to-practice program outcomes, measure experiences of graduate nurses, assess readiness for practice, and identify factors that affect nurse retention.
Our Surveys
Health care leaders seek reliable information to help make informed decisions about their programs. Data collected from the Casey-Fink Surveys© are used to guide program improvements, make changes in curriculum, and design effective retention strategies.

Casey-Fink Graduate Nurse Experience Survey© 2006
The Casey-Fink Graduate Nurse Experience Survey© 2023 is now available!
New features include:
Measurement of 8 factors (sub-scales): Role Confidence, Manage Patient Care, Support, Role Satisfaction, Stress/Burnout, Resilience, Organizational Commitment, and Preceptorship.
Learning Needs Assessment: Measures confidence in performing nursing skills (skills listed can be changed to meet study or population needs)
Demographic section: Questions can be modified or deleted, as needed.
We suggest data collection occurs within 6 weeks of the start of program, mid-point of the program, and end of the program. Data collected can be used to measure changes in factor scores over time.
Survey items can be entered into any electronic survey platform.
We are exploring a data repository to provide benchmarking on the new factors. Please contact us if you can share your de-identified data.
Please note: A single question cannot be used on its own to score an outcome measure. Multiple questions are used to assess various attributes of the concept being measured.
