Aurora, Colo. (June 24, 2026) – For the third year in a row, UCHealth has been recognized by independent think tank Lown Institute as one of the nation’s most socially responsible healthcare systems. The 2026-27 Lown Institute Hospitals Index ranks UCHealth in the top 10% of health systems nationwide for social responsibility, based on the institute’s analysis of health equity, value of care and patient outcomes.
“With financial pressures forcing painful choices on many hospitals, those on the Lown Honor Roll have found ways to put their patients and communities first,” said Vikas Saini, MD, president of the Lown Institute. “These hospitals are staying true to their mission when it matters most, and in healthcare, that’s everything.”
The Lown Institute Hospitals Index for Social Responsibility combines metrics of health equity and value of care with patient outcomes, offering a holistic view of hospitals as community partners. Lown’s annual index includes more than 2,700 hospitals and health systems and evaluates performance on more than 50 measures, including community benefit, inclusivity, cost efficiency, clinical outcomes and patient safety.
Several UCHealth hospitals were also individually recognized with “A” grades in social responsibility.
