Since it launched, more than 500 nurses\u2019 applications have been approved across both tiers, which offer varying intensity of requirements.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-92553 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/uchealth-wp-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2026\/08\/06112130\/UEXCEL-scaled.webp\" alt=\"UEXCEL badge\" width=\"343\" height=\"137\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Monetary awards are available for successful completion of activities, and eligible nurses have the option each year to select a tier and participate in a triannual cohort. Through UEXCEL NextGen, UCHealth nurses are contributing to innovations, building leadership skills and advancing their clinical expertise as they improve lives.<\/p>\n<p>Participants complete activities across several categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Professional involvement<\/li>\n<li>Professional development<\/li>\n<li>Culture and employee well-being<\/li>\n<li>Project participation and dissemination<\/li>\n<li>Quality and safety<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Examples can include completing a practice-improvement project, publishing an article, chairing a council or committee, obtaining a specialty certification, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and much more.
