Despite his doctors&#8217; best efforts to manage the disease, Shaun was struggling: his weight had dropped below 90 pounds, and he was not expected to live much longer. To have a chance at long-term survival, he would need two new lungs and a new liver.<\/p>\n<p>Shaun made the trip to the University of Colorado Hospital for the first double lung and liver transplant ever performed in the state.
