In and outside its hospitals and clinics, UCHealth builds connections with Coloradans in big and small ways, all in the spirit of doing right by Colorado. At the bedside, we\u2019re improving lives by providing the highest quality care for patients.<\/p>\n

Outside hospitals and clinics, UCHealth is actively providing benefits to countless communities, through programs that provide access to healthy food, homes for veterans and mental health care in urban and rural communities.<\/p>\n

As a nonprofit health care system, UCHealth is focused on providing community benefits including uncompensated care instead of the state and federal taxes and shareholder benefits it would pay for as a for-profit organization.<\/p>\n

UCHealth provided far more in community benefits than it otherwise would have paid in taxes during fiscal year 2024. During that year, UCHealth provided $1.3 billion in community benefits \u2014 including $568 million in care for uninsured and underinsured patients and $385 million in support for the University of Colorado School of Medince. UCHealth’s contributions to the community far exceed the value of a tax exemption, which would have equalled $472 million during the fiscal year.<\/p>\n
