Photo: Getty Image<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Parents can find a wealth of information through a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uchealth.org\/services\/pediatric-care\/\">new online video series<\/a> created by UCHealth experts who offer tips on how to raise healthy, happy children.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs parents, all of us feel inadequate at times and going online can sometimes be a confusing and frustrating experience when you\u2019re looking for medical help,\u201d said<a href=\"https:\/\/www.uchealth.org\/provider\/mark-d-schane-md-pediatrics\/\"> Dr. Mark Schane<\/a>, pediatrician and chair of the pediatrics committee at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uchealth.org\/locations\/uchealth-pediatrics-longmont\/\">UCHealth Pediatric Care Longmont<\/a>. \u201cThe point of these videos is to provide evidence-based, best practice, reliable information from sources who are invested in what is best for kids.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Clocking in at about 90 seconds each, the 35 videos are available in <a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/showcase\/10392458\">English<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/showcase\/10392680\">Spanish<\/a>, and cover a wide range of relatable topics of interest for moms and dads with children ages 0 to 14.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>With just a click on a choice of links and a quick viewing, parents can watch health care professionals discuss issues such as:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Ideas for picky eaters, positive parenting steps and help for postpartum depression;<\/li>\n<li>Ways for kids to self-soothe, safe sleep tips and regulating screen time;<\/li>\n<li>Talking with your baby, when to use timeout and the best ways to toilet train;<\/li>\n<li>Dealing with diaper rash, importance of dental health and ways to donate and receive breast milk.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Schane said the videos are especially helpful for first-time parents who may be feeling overwhelmed by confusing and sometimes contradictory information available online.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery parent sometimes wonders, \u2018Am I doing the right thing?\u2019 We just wanted to share information that better helps them support their children, reinforce the good things they are doing and gives them confidence to raise kids that are healthy and have good self-esteem.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The series was made possible by a grant from the <a id=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Bralyfamilyfoundation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Braly Family Foundation<\/a> to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.longspeakhospitalfoundation.org\/\">UCHealth Longs Peak Hospital Foundation.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Parents can find a wealth of information through a new online video series created by UCHealth experts who offer tips on how to raise healthy, happy children. \u201cAs parents, all of us feel inadequate at times and going online can sometimes be a confusing and frustrating experience when you\u2019re looking for medical help,\u201d said Dr. [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2357,"featured_media":70336,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"video","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_relevanssi_hide_post":"","_relevanssi_hide_content":"","_relevanssi_pin_for_all":"","_relevanssi_pin_keywords":"","_relevanssi_unpin_keywords":"","_relevanssi_related_keywords":"","_relevanssi_related_include_ids":"","_relevanssi_related_exclude_ids":"","_relevanssi_related_no_append":"","_relevanssi_related_not_related":"","_relevanssi_related_posts":"","_relevanssi_noindex_reason":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[6],"tags":[202,9187,1284],"class_list":["post-70299","post","type-post","status-publish","format-video","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-healthy-living","tag-pediatric-care","tag-readysetco","tag-video","post_format-post-format-video"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v27.2 (Yoast SEO v27.2) -
