Beginning today, he is caring for patients at the UCHealth Internal Medicine clinic in the north medical office building at 2500 Rocky Mountain Ave. in Loveland, just north of Medical Center of the Rockies.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Smith is board certified in internal medicine and has been practicing medicine in the Loveland area for the past 15 years. He is particularly interested in disease prevention, diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia and cancer screenings.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe UCHealth system makes it possible for a primary care physician like me to have state-of-the-art resources and direct collaboration with specialists and university-based academic physicians at my fingertips. This system helps me provide the best possible care available to patients,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He is an alumnus of Thompson Valley High School who earned a medical degree from the University of Colorado. In 1999, he completed a residency in internal medicine at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Mich.<\/p>\n<p>In 2012, Dr. Smith also served as the president of the Larimer County Medical Society.<\/p>\n<p>The growing team at UCHealth Internal Medicine clinic now includes six physicians and a physician assistant who focus on patient-centered care to prevent, treat and manage complex diseases and disorders to keep patients healthy.
