Photo by UCHealth.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A nurse practitioner who specializes in neurosurgery has been elected to serve on the medical board of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uchealth.org\/locations\/uchealth-university-of-colorado-hospital-uch\/\">UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital<\/a>,\u00a0located on the Anschutz Medical Campus. Amanda Brill is believed to be one of a few Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in the country to serve as an elected member at-large on a hospital medical executive committee.<\/p>\n<p>Advanced Practice Providers perform key functions throughout UCH and UCHealth\u2019s networks of hospitals and clinics. APPs include physician assistants (PA-Cs), nurse practitioners (NPs), certified nurse midwives (CNMs), certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs), clinical nurse specialists (CNS), and anesthesia assistants (C-AAs).<\/p>\n<p>APPs are considered full voting members of the medical staff, and three years ago, were granted the opportunity to stand for election to\u00a0University of Colorado Hospital\u2019s medical board.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_19405\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-19405\" style=\"width: 173px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-19405 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/uchealth-wp-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/11\/07153143\/brill2.webp\" alt=\"A photo of Amanda Brill\" width=\"173\" height=\"224\" srcset=\"https:\/\/uchealth-wp-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/11\/07153143\/brill2.webp 173w, https:\/\/uchealth-wp-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2018\/11\/07153143\/brill2-116x150.webp 116w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 173px) 100vw, 173px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-19405\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Amanda Brill<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Since 2002, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uchealth.org\/provider\/amanda-brill-msn\/\">Brill<\/a> has worked as an acute care nurse practitioner in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uchealth.org\/locations\/uchealth-neurosciences-center-anschutz\/\">Department of Neurosurgery<\/a>, working with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uchealth.org\/provider\/robert-breeze-md-neurological-surgery\/\">Dr. Robert Breeze<\/a>, and other outstanding neurosurgeons, neurologists and APPs. Throughout her career as a faculty member of the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Brill has provided medical care for patients both in the hospital and in outpatient clinics. She specializes in neurovascular, tumor and gamma knife radiosurgery. Since becoming the neurosurgery department\u2019s first APP in 2002, Brill has been joined by an additional 14 APPs and provides leadership to her colleagues along with excellent patient care.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are proud to have APPs with full medical staff voting privileges. Adding Amanda to our medical board is a critical milestone.
