Her elbow joints kept deteriorating, causing constant pain. Dr. Patrick Johnston, an orthopedic surgeon in Steamboat Springs and a member of the medical staff at UCHealth Yampa Valley Medical Center suggested an elbow replacement. Two days after Barb's surgery, the only pain Barb felt was in her other elbow. Barb was the first patient at UCHealth Yampa Valley Medical Center who received an elective total elbow replacement.
