UCHealth welcomes cardiac electrophysiologist Dr. Ethan Ellis and physician assistants Ambrish Patel and Zachary Pfiffner.
Dr. Ellis joins one of the largest heart programs in the state with more cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons and electrophysiologists than any other program in northern Colorado. He will serve patients in Fort Collins, Loveland and Scottsbluff, Neb., beginning Sept. 15.
His focus is on providing high quality, compassionate care centered on each patient’s unique needs and preferences. “I strive to provide the level of care that I would want for a loved one or a family member,” he said.
Dr. Ellis is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine. He completed his fellowship in cardiovascular medicine and residency at Harvard Medical School/Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He also completed his fellowship in clinical cardiac electrophysiology at Harvard Thorndike Electrophysiology Institute/Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Dr. Ellis earned his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.

Patel, a certified physician assistant, will start seeing patients Friday in Cheyenne, Wyo. He focuses on education and prevention when treating individuals.
“Educating my patients on how to stay healthy is essential,” said Patel. “I believe in prevention more than the cure because I can help my patients manage their health.”
He has more than five years of experience in patient care and earned his bachelor’s degree at State University of New York. Prior to joining UCHealth, he provided family medicine and outpatient care at Community Health Development, Inc. in Uvalde, Texas.

Pfiffner joined the UCHealth General Surgery clinic located at 2500 Rocky Mountain Ave., Suite 2200, Loveland.
Pfiffner focuses on individual needs and using evidenced-based medicine for treatment. “Each situation is different, and it’s important for me to understand my patients and how I can provide the best care to meet their needs.”
He is a certified physician assistant with more than six years of experience. He earned his degree at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wis. Prior to joining UCHealth, he was a physician assistant for Orthopaedic and Spine Center of the Rockies.
