My goal is to apply my years of knowledge and experience as a Family Physician, towards compassionate, quality care for the Woodland Park community. I strongly believe in lifelong learning, and I always strive to be the most up to date that I can be on the medical care and advice I provide patients. I believe patients must be actively involved in their own health care, or else they will never achieve any goals for a healthier life. My role is to facilitate and guide you towards a healthier lifestyle, and management of disease. My primary goals when seeing patients are to listen, not be hurried, and not judge patients.
All of my early life was in Florida. I grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. I attended Jacksonville University on a full academic scholarship. I then attended the University of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa on the Military Health Professions Scholarship Program. Then I completed a residency in Family Medicine at St Vincent’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida.
Upon completion of my training, I entered the Air Force. During that time, I had a break in service, and joined a private practice in Jacksonville, Florida for 3 years. My biggest job in the Air Force was serving as Deputy Commander/Chief Medical Officer for Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany from 2002-2004. I also served as a Flight Surgeon for nine years. I retired as a Colonel in 2006.
