Education and Programs

UCHealth provides continuing education programs designed to reflect the leading roles our hospitals play in community-based and academic medicine.

University of Colorado Hospital is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Colorado Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

  • Continuing education consists of planned activities that build upon the educational and experiential bases of nursing practice, education, administration and research. The goal is to improve the health of University of Colorado Hospital patients, families and the community.
  • Our programs in specialty nursing have helped University of Colorado Hospital become a leader in nursing education in the Rocky Mountain region. We offer continuing education courses in rural areas directly and through the University of Colorado Area Health Education Centers.

Continuing Medical Education (CME)

Memorial Hospital is accredited by the Colorado Medical Society to provided continuing medical education for health care professionals.

The mission of the Memorial Hospital Continuing Medical Education Program is to provide lifelong learning experiences for physicians that support their efforts to enhance the safe, timely, equitable, efficient, effective, and patient-centered delivery of health care.

Our fundamental purpose is to improve knowledge, competence, performance or health outcomes. We will accomplish this through continuing medical education and professional development that:

  • Is linked to practice and focused on health care quality gaps
  • Fosters collaboration within and among health professionals to address quality improvement
  • Addresses interdisciplinary team practice

Continuing Nursing Education (CNE)

Memorial Hospital is accredited by the Colorado Nurses Association/ANCC to provide continuing nursing education for health care professionals.

The mission of the Memorial Hospital Continuing Nursing Education Program is to promote excellence in nursing and health care through providing high-quality continuing nursing education (CNE) and skills-based competency programs.

Our fundamental purpose is to improve knowledge, competence, performance or health outcomes. We will accomplish this through continuing nursing education and professional development that:

  • Is linked to practice and focused on health care quality gaps
  • Fosters collaboration within and among health professionals to address quality improvement
  • Addresses interdisciplinary team practice
