UCHealth Parkview among the top five clinical sites out of 70 nationwide
Pueblo, Colo. (Oct. 9, 2024) UCHealth Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo has been awarded the Clinical Site of the Year Award by Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, recognizing its excellence in the education and training of student registered nurse anesthetists (SRNAs). The award places UCHealth Parkview among the top five clinical sites out of 70 nationwide.
The honor highlights the significant role Parkview plays in supporting the hands-on clinical education of SRNA students from Rosalind Franklin University, a prestigious private graduate school in Chicago. Throughout their rotations at Parkview, students gain exposure to a broad range of complex cases, contributing to a comprehensive learning experience.
Lisa Hopp, interim dean of Rosalind Franklin University College of Nursing, praised UCHealth Parkview for its exceptional contributions to student development.
“We are proud to recognize Parkview as one of five sites selected by our nurse anesthesia program for outstanding support and clinical education. Clearly, the student perspectives indicate that the culture is welcoming, the access to a wide variety of cases is outstanding, and the learning is without boundaries,” Hopp said.
As a clinical site, UCHealth Parkview offers SRNA students exposure to a wide range of specialties, ensuring they graduate with the skills and confidence needed to excel in their careers. In addition to receiving this accolade, UCHealth Parkview demonstrated an excellent retention rate of the students that completed their rotations at the facility.
“We are deeply honored to be recognized by Rosalind Franklin University with this award,” said Dr. James Caldwell, chief medical officer for UCHealth Parkview. “We are committed to providing our students with a rich, immersive clinical experience. Our SRNA program not only supports the educational journey of these students but also strengthens the future of certified registered nurse anesthetists in our community.”
