Denver Business Journal | 'Bionic' clothing comes to Colorado hospitals

Three Colorado health care facilities will be the first to get a futuristic technology that promises to help patients with mobility issues get around more easily. Cionic, a San Francisco-based neurotech company, said Tuesday it will bring its "bionic" clothing to two hospitals and a physical therapy practice in the Denver area. Cionic describes its neural sleeve as "the first FDA-cleared bionic clothing" that helps people with neurological diagnoses. The clothing comes in the form of a a flexible sleeve that fits over users' legs, precisely measures the patterns of their movements and stimulates particular muscles to improve movement. UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, Craig Hospital in Englewood and Neuro Physical Therapy, a one-person physical therapy practice in Wheat Ridge, will be the first providers in the state to partner with Cionic.
