Aurora, Colo. (May 13, 2020) – Broncos kicker Brandon McManus stopped by UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital today to personally thank some of the hardworking health care workers and staff. He provided lunch to 400 clinical team members while also supporting the restaurant industry, which has been hit hard during the pandemic. The nurses were so excited to chat with the Broncos kicker and enjoy food from some of Colorado’s finest restaurants: Cho Lon, Potager and TAG Restaurant Group.

They’re the heroes right now. I know a lot of people look up to us…but these guys are on the frontlines working, saving lives, and really helping out as many people as possible,” said McManus.
Desirea Ulibarri is the nurse manager of the inpatient orthopedics unit – this was a unit that was converted to support COVID-19 patients when the pandemic first hit Colorado for several weeks. She spoke to how meaningful these gestures are. “Our hospital is one of the safest places right now, not only are we preparing for more patients every day by keeping it clean, and by keeping the doors open and ready to go, but somebody like Brandon McManus who’s a professional athlete to come in here and to share this space with nurses and doctors, giving food out, it’s just awesome,” said Ulibarri.
