As a state-designated Level I Trauma Center, MCR is a referral center for the region as well as a consultative and educational resource for other hospitals in a multistate region.\r\n\r\nWe are a leader in trauma education, injury prevention and community outreach. We have a dedicated trauma research department, and we partner with the University of Colorado Medical Residency program.\r\n<h3>What is a Level I Trauma Center?<\/h3>\r\nA Level I Trauma Center can provide the most comprehensive care to any injured patient. A Level I Trauma Center is considered a tertiary care facility that serves as a central \u201creceiving\u201d hospital for smaller or rural hospitals for all types of injured patients. Rapid access to multidisciplinary physicians and specialties is the cornerstone of a Level I program. In addition, Level I Trauma Centers are recognized as leaders in research and education.\n\n\n<h2 id=\"our-services\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Our services<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a Level I trauma center, we serve our local community through our ability to stabilize and care for the injured patient.
