UCHealth Urgent Care clinics provide treatment for acute injuries and illnesses. Urgent Care clinics should be used for health care needs such as sprains and strains, cuts and scrapes, rashes, insect bites, asthma, colds, flu, sore throat, and stomachaches. At UCHealth, our goal is to serve you as quickly as we can without compromising the high quality of care you have come to expect and deserve from us.

We accept most major insurance plans, including Aetna, Anthem CHP+, Cigna, Cofinity, Humana, Kaiser Permanente, Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, and UnitedHealthcare.

The role of urgent care

When you need to see a doctor and don’t have time to make an appointment, we’re here for you. Urgent care should be used for non-life threatening issues only. If you are experiencing chest pain or shortness of breath, please go to the nearest hospital emergency room or call 911.

Urgent care – minor injuries and illnesses

In general, if the illness or injury is something you’d normally see your family doctor for but you can’t get an appointment right away or it’s after hours, urgent care is the right choice.

  • Sprains and strains or possible broken bones
  • Headache
  • Sore throats and coughs
  • Ear infections
  • Fever or flu symptoms
  • Burns
  • Lacerations requiring a few stitches
  • Animal bites
  • Worker’s compensation injuries
  • Rashes

Emergent care – severe injuries and illnesses

In general, if the illness or injury seems more critical than something you’d see your family doctor for, or if you need care during the middle of the night, go to the emergency center.

  • Head injuries, or sudden, very severe headache or loss of vision (could be sign of a stroke)
  • Chest pain or other heart attack symptoms – call 911
  • Serious lacerations, severe bleeding, poisoning
  • Intoxication, overdose or attempted suicide
  • Severe abdominal pain

Sports physicals

Sports, school and camp physicals are available at UCHealth urgent care locations. Many states, including Colorado, require these exams once a year or before participating in any physical activity at a school, camp or community organization.

We offer sports physicals for $30. Most sports, school or camp physicals are not covered by insurance. Payment by cash or credit card is required at the time of service. *Sports physicals not available at Circle Square location.
