Advanced technologies and innovative care at UCHealth
We specialize in minimally invasive treatments involving the two primary types of radiation therapy:
External Beam Radiation Therapy (stereotactic radiosurgery)
This is a form of radiation therapy that focuses high-power energy on a small area of the body. Despite its name, radiosurgery is a treatment, not a surgical procedure. Incisions (cuts) are not made on your body.
Internal Radiation Therapy (brachytherapy)
Internal radiation therapy uses a radioactive material sealed inside tiny capsules(seeds) that are placed directly into or near the tumor or mass. The radiation from the implant travels only a short distance, so it has very little effect on normal body tissues.
