Objective

        
Study Purpose– Looking for people with type 2 diabetes who do not regularly exercise to participate in a study looking at the effects of a new medication on exercise capacity and blood vessel function.
 
Study Design –
-          Physical exam, blood draws and activity questionnaire
-          Measures of body composition, insulin sensitivity, blood vessel function, cardiac function and exercise capacity
-          Take an investigational drug or placebo for 7-9 days on two separate occasions

Eligibility and Other Participant Information


Study Qualifications –
-          Type 2 Diabetes
-          30-60 years old
-          Exercise vigorously less than 1 hour per week
-          Normal Blood Pressure
-          You have not smoked for at least one year
-          BMI between 25-39.9 (check your BMI at www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/)
